Aspire Torch Tower
The 318-metre Aspire Tower — the design landmark of the 2006 Asian Games and an icon of Doha’s skyline — was sculpted into the form of a torch using DOGLA-TRIO architectural wire mesh supplied by KAPHS from Haver & Boecker.
The façade comprises 3,452 individual panels totalling around 30,000 m², with horizontal-wire clear openings tuned from 14 to 44 mm and open area graded from 72% to 85%. Continuous vertical wire groups run unbroken from element to element across the full height of the tower, while integrated LEDs deliver programmable colour effects after dark.
Architectural wire mesh at Aspire Torch Tower
Specified in stainless steel across a range of weaves, apertures and finishes, the mesh offers solar shading, fall protection and acoustic benefits while remaining largely transparent and virtually maintenance-free.
As the Middle East partner for premium architectural materials, KAPHS supplies the Haver & Boecker weave — architectural wire mesh that combines transparency, durability and a refined metallic finish for façades, cladding and feature screens. Sourced through Haver & Boecker, the mesh at Aspire Torch Tower was engineered to perform in the region’s demanding climate while elevating the building’s identity.
For architects, developers and contractors across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC, this project shows how architectural wire mesh can transform a landmark scheme — balancing aesthetics, daylight, privacy and durability in equal measure. Every panel was selected, engineered and delivered to exacting tolerances, and backed by KAPHS’s regional expertise the result is a surface that looks exceptional on day one and keeps performing for decades in the Middle East climate. As one of the region’s most recognisable installations of its kind, Aspire Torch Tower stands as a benchmark reference for specifiers across the GCC.
KAPHS is the Middle East’s specialist supplier of architectural mesh, glass and steel, trusted on landmark projects across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait.
