City Walk
The Roxy Cinema at City Walk features an eye-catching facade that incorporates dichroic glass to create a dynamic and visually engaging experience for visitors. Dichroic glass is a type of glass that displays two different colors depending on the angle of view and lighting conditions. This is achieved through a special coating applied to the glass during its manufacturing process, which consists of multiple layers of metal oxides. These layers reflect certain wavelengths of light while allowing others to pass through, creating a shifting spectrum of colors.
When applied to a building’s facade, dichroic glass not only enhances the architectural aesthetics but also creates a sense of movement and vibrancy. The Roxy Cinema’s use of dichroic glass on its facade plays with light and color, making the structure stand out, especially during different times of the day and under various lighting conditions. The ever-changing hues add a lively, almost futuristic element to the cinema’s design, drawing attention and setting it apart from its surroundings.
