ONGC HQ
The ONGC Headquarters in Delhi features an innovative application of architectural wire mesh as a double skin to the curtain wall, enhancing both aesthetic and functional aspects of the building. This wire mesh facade, supplied by KAPHS, serves as a modern and sustainable design solution, providing numerous benefits.
The double skin design utilizes the wire mesh to create an additional layer on the exterior of the curtain wall. This layer contributes to energy efficiency by acting as a thermal barrier, reducing solar gain and enhancing insulation properties. The stainless-steel also improves ventilation, allowing for better air circulation and reducing the need for extensive climate control systems.
Aesthetically, the architectural wire mesh imparts a sleek, contemporary look to the ONGC HQ, reflecting the company’s progressive image. The mesh’s semi-transparency allows for a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, creating a visually appealing facade that changes with the angle of the sun. This design not only enhances the building’s exterior appearance but also provides a sense of privacy for the occupants without compromising natural light inside.
